IDF operates in Jabalya, Rafah, dismantles 70 terror targets throughout Gaza

The IDF continued to operate in Jabalya and Rafah in the Gaza Strip on Monday and Tuesday, the IDF announced on Tuesday. 

IDF soldiers eliminated several terrorists in Jabalya, including a terror cell fired at soldiers, who directed an IAF aircraft to strike and destroy the cell. 

In Rafah, soldiers identified a terrorist shooting mortars toward them. In response, the troops directed an aircraft to kill the terrorist. The IDF also reported that soldiers found several terrorists, rockets, and other military equipment in the area.

Over the past day, IAF fighter jets and additional aircraft struck and dismantled 70 terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip, including military compounds, weapon storage sites and warehouses, missile launchers, observation posts, and other terrorist infrastructure.

Yemen's Houthis say they downed US drone over al-Bayda province

Yemen's Houthis downed a US MQ9 drone over al-Bayda province in southern Yemen, the Iran-aligned group's military spokesperson said in a televised statement on Tuesday.

Yahya Saree said the drone was targeted with a locally made surface-to-air missile and that videos to support the claim would be released.

The Houthis said last Friday they downed another US MQ9 drone over the southeastern province of Maareb.

The group, which controls Yemen's capital and most populous areas of the Arabian Peninsula state, has attacked international shipping in the Red Sea since November in solidarity with the Palestinians in the war between Israel and Hamas militants, drawing US and British retaliatory strikes since February.

Amal Clooney, British human rights lawyer and wife of actor George Clooney, published a report that supported the ICC arrest warrant applications for Israeli and Hamas leaders, the Clooney Foundation for Justice announced on Monday. 

Clooney noted in her statement, "I do not accept that any conflict should be beyond the reach of the law, nor that any perpetrator should be above the law. So I support the historic step that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has taken to bring justice to victims of atrocities in Israel and Palestine."

An Israel Air Force aircraft struck and eliminated the terrorist Qassem Saqlawi, the Commander of the Rocket and Missile Array in Hezbollah's Coastal Sector, the IDF announced on Tuesday. 

Saqlawi planned and executed numerous attacks against Israel, including rocket and anti-tank missile attacks towards Israeli territory from the coastal sector in Lebanon, the IDF noted. 

This statement followed Hezbollah's confirmation on Tuesday morning that six of its terrorists were eliminated by the IDF in the last 24 hours, according to Israeli media reports.

Two soldiers were wounded during combat in separate incidents in southern Gaza on Monday.

A reservist fighter from the Rotem Division, Givati ​​Brigade, and a soldier in the 8237 Logistics Brigade were critically wounded in two separate battles in the southern Gaza Strip.

The soldier in the 8237 Logistics Brigade was injured as a result of rocket fire, Israeli media reported. 

Both fighters were evacuated for medical treatment at a hospital, and their families were notified.

Large fire breaks out in Metula, northern Israel, following rocket fire from Lebanon

Two firefighting teams from the Fire and Rescue Authority of the Galilee-Golan station have been working since Monday evening to put out a fire that broke out in an open area in Metula after rocket fire from Lebanon ignited the blaze, Israeli media reported on Tuesday. 

The firefighters worked alongside teams from the Nature and Parks Authority and volunteers from the emergency standby squads in Metula.

The emergency responders were equipped with a fire truck and trained to extinguish the fire and conduct rescue operations until the firefighters arrived.

Ignatius's prediction comes as Israel prepares for a ground operation in Rafah, which American officials believe will be limited in scope.

Biden addressed Jewish community leaders and other elected officials at the White House on Monday to commemorate Jewish American Heritage Month.
