A Sensible Kitchen Experience: The Normande Grill

It's almost strange to think how little progress the toaster category has made over the decades, merely warming our cheesy cravings. Stripes, sure, and those familiar triangles, but what about some new features? Technology and finesse? Not to mention that ON and OFF button segment?

Normande, an electric appliance brand, arriving through Clinton Trade Group, doesn't aim for a revolution in the field or go wild with innovations, but it does present a toaster that doubles as an electric grill with (at least) one quite impressive feature, all the way to a practical, safe, and much more rational culinary and kitchen experience.

Despite its advanced features, the device is simple and easy to operate. You can open the device to a flat mode of 180 degrees and get both heating plates side by side, on a large grill-like surface. This "barbecue mode," as the company calls it, works great, allowing height adjustment of the surface and heat-temperature adjustment (60-230 degrees, with a green indicator light that will light up when it reaches its temperature), and also knows how to differentiate between the two plates, heating each one separately. Oh, and an adjustable timer will beep when the desired time has passed, shutting off the device. Hallelujah.

Various materials that faced the challenge have reached the plate, and the table, in excellent accumulation conditions, ideal for indulgence. Chicken breasts that didn't require much heating time, thicker steaks too, large vegetables that demanded slicing, and of course, toasts, many of them.

Those who used the grill-touch mode, namely toaster, provided the same successful user experience, and then some. The top plate can "float" above the food and toast it uniformly, while the bottom plate can reach one of six height options, depending on what you decide to load. A bit of handle play and understanding, and you've got it.

Efficient cleaning, including the most important thing

The plates themselves, with a non-stick coating, clean relatively easily and can be removed from their place and put in the dishwasher. An additional bottom tray, designed to collect the remaining fluids, is also removable for efficient cleaning.

The device itself is sleek, relatively modern in design, combining black and matte colors, as well as LED lights for indication. It is stable and uses anti-slip bottom, enjoying a nice power of 1650-2000W. Price: NIS 499.
