In honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month, free early detection screenings for skin cancer will be available at five central locations across the country: Tel Aviv, Beersheba, Krayot , Carmiel, and Eilat.
La Roche-Posay, in collaboration with the Israel Skin Cancer Association, will provide these free screenings to raise awareness about skin cancer and encourage early detection among the public.
The screenings will take place throughout June, Skin Cancer Awareness Month, in a specially designed mobile clinic. The clinic will have two treatment rooms where dermatologists will examine moles and suspicious spots. The mobile clinic will visit strategic locations nationwide: Tel Aviv, Krayot , Beersheba, Carmiel, and Eilat.
The screening schedule for the mobile clinic is as follows:
Tel Aviv Port: June 4-6Big Carmiel Complex: June 16-17Big Krayot Complex: June 18-19Big Beersheba Complex: June 23-24Eilat Beach Promenade: June 30-July 2The clinic will operate from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM for the public.
Dr. Anna Eshkol, a dermatology specialist leading the screenings, stated: "Melanoma is one of the three most common skin cancers and the deadliest among them. Every year, over 1,200 new cases of malignant melanoma are diagnosed in Israel, drastically changing the lives of patients. These statistics can be altered through disease prevention and improved treatment, potentially curing the disease. The most effective way to protect the skin is through regular dermatological check-ups, consistent use of high-quality sunscreen, and avoiding prolonged sun exposure."
Guy Denman, CEO of L'Oréal Israel's Dermo-Cosmetics Division, commented: "This initiative is part of La Roche-Posay's social agenda. Its goal is to raise awareness about skin cancer and emphasize the importance of sun protection and annual early detection screenings, especially to younger audiences. The mobile clinic exemplifies the brand's ongoing efforts to highlight the necessity of daily sun protection."
Inbal Cohen-Tuval, CEO of the Israel Skin Cancer Association, added: "Approximately 1,000 new skin cancer cases are diagnosed daily in Israel. The Israel Skin Cancer Association runs a national program for skin cancer prevention, public education and awareness activities, as well as support for patients and their families. As every summer, we are partnering with La Roche-Posay to engage with the public, raise awareness about proper sun behavior, and promote early detection through skin examinations. Skin cancer can be prevented through proper sun practices and regular skin check-ups."
