Indoor BBQ: We tested the Hamilton electric grill

Does an electric grill, which promises the same grilling only with less smoke and mess, really do the job? We tested the Hamilton 2131-HEM.

One of the wonders we have been exposed to during the last decade is the word "without" in everything related to technology - wireless charging ("without a cable"), a car without a driver, payment without a credit card, etc. All of these make us think what the world will look like in 20 years and how archaic those who didn't make the transition to "without" will be. In fact, we can say that it is already happening today.

Advance wins, those who stay behind are considered boomers, and this is true for everything - including and perhaps especially in the cooking category. An oil-free frying pan has become a hit over the years and with it its almost twin brother - the electric grill, the one that allows you to leave the pan unattended and start grilling indoors with less mess.

We tried the Hamilton 2131-HEM marketed by the "World of Cinema" chain of electrical products. This is a device that allows roasting, baking, frying in hot air and grilling in hot air. Through several simple operating programs, you can adjust any type of meat or side dish you want, along with a necessary feature such as preheating and a much less necessary feature such as a timer, a concept that since the elimination of the VCR I never realized the need for it. Like the oil-free frying pan, a beloved product that changed the face of home cooking, there is good news here too.

One, of course, is the "saving" in smoke. In an average apartment, smoke sometimes takes a good few hours to completely evaporate.

This grill allows you to make "on the fire" indoors, which opens up huge possibilities. The second and no less important thing is the ease of preparation. For someone like me, who suffers from machetophobia and can barely fry an egg for himself, countless simpler and cleaner options have opened up.

The bottom line: a great product that so far, at least, after quite a few uses, I have not found any shortcomings in it. The meat came out perfect, the potatoes were well baked, a home party to which I only invited myself and it paid off big.

The price at "World of Cinema" is NIS 683 (in Eilat NIS 634), highly recommended (literally) as a gift for yourself or others.
