Right-wing activists and settlers had first attempted to build a new community on that hilltop in 2013 in the aftermath of the terror attack at the Tapuach junction.

At least a dozen families had gone to the entryway to the Evyatar hilltop on Sunday with the intent of spending the first day of the Sukkot holiday at the site
